Hopefully there will be a poll in this post. Right now it doesn't look like it but I've never done one before so maybe it will magically appear when I press the post button.

I was inclined to just oil my new tent poles wot I hope to finish tonight. However I am told that paint is a more historically informed choice. So... given that my tent is white canvas with black and gold painted designs, what colours do you think I should paint the poles and joiners? Note that the black and gold paint is oil based, the red is water based.

I'm usually a fan of blackity black black, but not for things I might walk into in the dark :)

I voted for all black because I think that all of the joiners is too much gold to be historicaly informed. My actual vote is for black with gold flur-de-li thingammys. 8->
