is bottled. ~5doz stubbies. If I didn't do it today it would have had realistically to wait nearly at fortnight. Finish density was 1.009 or so. So 3.6% alcohol. It was only glooping rarely. So far apart that I found it hard to time. May it not explode please?
It is still too bitter. I think the bittering agent was a mistake. Interestingly, the bitter was less noticable in the sample when chilled-but then one can't taste the good ale characteristics. Not sure if we will end up drinking this one or not. Bother. Ingredients were $59 but it 's the fail/disappointment that bites really. Ah well, lets see what happens after a few weeks in the bottle.
I'm still keen to do more. The fermenter is scrubbed and drying. I'm thinking a honey beer will be next. I might just have time to do one before festi. The dark lager is all drunk. I reeaallly liked that at about the time we finished it. I'll have another go in winter but try to keep my paws off it for a few months as one should. I have one precious bottle of the English ale left and about 8 ciders. So this brewing lark has been pretty successful overall. Even if this latest is not brilliant I should not be put off.
