I cut this waistcoat last weekend and then hurt my arm enough that sewing it wasn't feasible. This weekend though I have had a lovely time putting it together. I think I'm pleased with it. It will get it's maiden voyage this afternoon. I might have a firmer opinion after that.
-The silk brocade was bought earlier this year on my first foray to "The Fabric Store" with mskilian. Just couldn't leave the store without it. It turns out to be a dream to work with, very cooperative.
-It's lined with teal silk crepe- odd stuff. It is very tightly woven so resists being pierced with pins and needles. Also, if you cut two layers at the same time, the edges stick together, a very strange habit.
-The buttons are from my Grandmothers waistcoat- I changed those out for gold ones but the shiny peacock shell colours look good with this.

The shirt was made years ago. It's had so much wear lately that I should perhaps make another.
