I so lurve daylight saving. This and a job I can get away with getting away from after only an 8hr day meant that ... I've just planted a prostrate rosemary in that wall cavity I mentioned a few posts ago. What I hadn't bargained on was finding a large ant's nest as my spade first dig into the existing soil. Urgh. After two kettles of hot water and lots of pyrethrum, I dug out the old soil, ant eggs and dead ants (I'm vaguely itchy as I write that) and replaced with said rosemary and new potting mix thusly:

I do hope it copes, nay, thrives. The old bush is looking more dead now even than last week. It, and very sadly the passion vine which also seems to be dying, will need to come out. Not so uplifting.
