More catch up posts. I finished these a couple of weeks ago but haven't had enough brain to compose posts. I figure that work has been using up all my capacity for remotely complex thought. I said to Dr Q that I had "run out of brain spoons". Many will know what I mean but saying it this way conjurs unwelcome mental images.
So anyway- Iterative patterning with wearable toiles = extra garments in wardrobe. This is the latest pair of trews. Lovely heavy shot twill linen for neglible money from Eliza's. Add a few bits from stash, shell button, zipper, scrap of pretty fabric for placket. The pattern iteration in this version worked well, the back leg hangs pretty much straight, yay. I'm about ready to cut some office troosers then, except for the party dress I've just cut out :-)
I don't think I'm actually as short and fat as it seems I must be whenever I catch sight of my troosers hanging up, or worse, pattern pieces laid out flat. It's hard to believe these are long pants when seen this way! Argh. If I made them to look nice hanging, then they wouldn't come close to fitting me, which would be rather useless.
