This is especially for Anti Ob, by request.

One newly cleared verandah. Yay. That little folding table doesn't even normally live there. Note the black metal chair neatly tucked under the work bench.

Turn that chair around and it makes a perfect bench for the urn.
.

Brand new heavy eye bolt in the verandah beam, pulley onna hook- which means i can roll up the rope and put all that away between brews so no one gets strangled while hanging out laundry or similar.
.

Detachable, washable bit of cord for contacting the sticky grain bag. This design is first try and might well evolve more yet.
.

The urn is electric, so keeping an insulating towel around for efficiency in the whole process is just fine.
.

Then during the mash proper it gets extra insulation to hold the temperature. I only lost 1deg over the hour with this lot. I only use one blanket in summer but it was 10C out there yesterday.

Brew bag suspended after the mash. Note the array of nails for hooking the rope on.
.

Post boil, post whirlpool. Sitting to let the trub settle. The teatowel is to keep out airbourne muck. That white trug is used for several things. It helps to stop the bag of dry grain falling over, and if it does, contain the spill. Then it receives the hot grain bag post draining (which is then allowed to cool and emptied to the compost bin nearby. After that it receives the trub and washings from urn cleaning, so that I can just tilt the urn and not have to lift and wave it about.
.

then the hot wort is run off using a sterilised silicon hose to "cubes". I use two 11L ones 'cause I can't comfortably handle 20L at once.
.

And done. Does that satisfy your curiosity Ob? Any questions? I also do a sparge step that I didn't take pictures of. Basically pouring water of the right temp over the grain bag in the last stages of draining while the bulk of the wort is heating to boil.

Tonight I put the wort to a fermenter and pitch the yeast.
