It's been nearly 18mths since the last edition of the shoe files. This does not mean however that I have stopping loving good shoes, or that that I have stopped aquiring them. There was a gap of many months in shoe aquisition, but as you may be aware, I have moved to a new workplace which puts me in range of a new set of tempting shoe purveyors. I also have an increased need for smart flat shoes I can wear to work. I can do the train walk in one pair and take another for the office, but it's annoying and I'd rather not. Of course I should do exactly that while wearing in the new ones.
The first friday in the new office, I scurried off to one of my favourite shoe shops. It was disconcerting to find that not only that shop but the whole arcade was closed! I was at a loss for a minute and then remembered that another excellent but more expensive shop was nearby. They had a sale on, of course, this was a little before financial year end. I was looking for office and walking friendly black shoes, which I did find and buy. This pair simply demanded to come home with me also. I decided they were a treat to reward myself for managing the office shift without tears.
They are made by Hogl (should have the dotty things over the "o"), an Austrian brand. They are not quite as flat as they look. They have one of those sneaky concealed heels, but only a centimetre or so of one.
